An active lifestyle prevents cancer

People who lead an active lifestyle have a lower risk of developing cancer. Scientists from several countries came to this conclusion.

According to team leader Dr. Manama Inue from the National Cancer Center in Tokyo, “increased physical activity throughout the day – and not just during sports – prevents cancer.” He is quoted by ITAR-TASS.

According to the study, men who lead an active lifestyle are 13% less likely to develop cancer than men who are sedentary. Among women, this figure is even higher: “active” women are 16% more likely to avoid this disease.

At the same time, scientists noted that increased human activity can reduce the risk of the appearance and development of cancer of the colon, liver, pancreas and stomach. The main reason is that exercise, as well as any other movement, allows people to maintain a healthy weight, which reduces the risk of cancer.

The study was conducted by a group of scientists from 1995 to 2004. Almost 80 thousand people aged 45-74 took part in it.
